GWYL gives February 2021 Grant to Clubhouse. In 1993, Dream Builders Group, Inc. was recognized as a 501(c) 3 and became the umbrella organization for Clubhouse, 'Clubhouse College Scholarship' and other ventures dealing with youth and community development. Clubhouse is proud to offer unique services by trained Christian teenagers to elementary at-risk children in the Miami Valley Area. They have been doing this since 1988. The organization has served over 7,000 at-risk children and given leadership and service opportunities to 7,500 teens.
Local schools refer at-risk children and then at Clubhouse, teenagers design and implement the projects, offering tutoring, faith-based teaching, and recreational activities. They build trusting, ongoing relationships with the children while instilling within them goals, leadership skills, and a commitment to family and education. Clubhouse happens 120 days per year for over 480 children and is run annually by 400 teens and 80 adults.
These teens have received a Point of Light Award from President Bush and a Presidential Voluntary Action Award from President Clinton and numerous National & Local Awards for their outstanding service. Other awards include National Child Labor Committee’s Lewis Hines Awards and 8 Miami County YWCA Young Woman of Distinction Awards.
